Starmeric™ is a resistant starch prepared from turmeric (Curcuma longa). It is standardized for a minimum of 40% resistant starch.
Resistant starch digests slower than simple starch and can make you feel more full. Hence, it does not allow carbs to absorb, helps reduce weight, helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels, and has prebiotic effects.
Starmeric does not have any staining effects.
It is a pale brown powder.
The curcuminoids content in Starmeric is less than 0.5%.
It converts into short chain fatty acids (SCFA) such as acetic acid, butyric acids, and propionic acids. These SCFA are reported to maintain the intestinal homeostasis. A characteristic feature of a promising prebiotic is to support the growth of probiotics and inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria responsible to increase the frequency of flatulence. Starmeric showed inhibition of E. coli ATCC25922 growth in co-cultured media.
Short chain fatty acids are reported to act as anti-inflammatory agents by modulating the production of inflammatory mediators by macrophages. The proprietary ingredient Starmeric inhibited markers IL-6 and TNF-α effectively.
